Who's the boss?

No I'm not talking about Tony Danza here, I'm talking about my life. Most of the time I feel like I have two people living inside me. The person at night who sets my alarm to get up early to work out. And the person who hits snooze 20 times before getting up and running off to work without working out. The person who wants to study for her Esthetics test and get her license. And the person who wants to sit on the couch and watch tv all night. The person who wants to read the Book of Mormon every night. And the tired girl who rolls into bed without reading. Who is the boss? Which one wins? I've been realizing in my life lately it's been the snoozing, tv watching, tired girl who wins. How do I change that? How do you become the person you want to be...instead of the person you are. It seems like a pretty simple thing...just change, right?! Right! Does anyone else have a hard time with this? Is it just will power? Do I just not have any? :) There's a whole different person I know I want to be...but I feel like she's on the other side of a ravine and I can't figure out how to get to her. What and where is the bridge? Why can't I just tell myself that this is the person I want to be, and be that person? I heard a quote recently that said, " You live two lives. The first life you are learning how to live, and the second you are living." I'm still definitely in the "learning how to live" phase of my life. This is one of the things I'm trying to learn, how to appoint a boss, and not two co-owners.

Young @ Heart Performance on the Ellen Show

I LOVE old people. I always have. I think it started when Holly Wallstrom and I used to visit an old folks home down the street from her house when we were little. We would make cornmeal muffins(don't ask me why) and take them around while we visited with all the great people. I watched the movie Young at Heart the other day and loved it. I just feel like we have so much to learn from the older generation. They have so much wisdom and so many great stories...and they obviously know how to rock!

The last days

WOW is all I have to say about the last couple of weeks. We are living in the last days. There is no doubt about it. I can't believe all of this stuff that has been going on with Prop 8. I know you are all probably tired of hearing about it, but I need to write about it and get it off my chest. First off I hope I don't offend anyone, but this is how I feel and this is my blog, so I can say what I want :). I don't understand members of the church who were against Prop 8. The prophet came out and said that we need to support Prop 8. Period! I don't understand where the confusion is. I think that these are the things that we are going to be tried with in our life. We aren't going to have to walk across the country like the pioneers, but we are going to be asked to stand up for what is right, even if it's not popular. And as we can see, it's definitely not popular to be a Mormon these days. We have to decide what side we are on. Are we going to follow the prophet, whatever he has to say, or not? Why should we think to earn a great reward if we now shun the fight?

Crazy!

This past couple of weeks have been CRAZY! I went home on the 24th and stayed a long weekend (till Tuesday). I had so much fun with my family and friends. Sometimes it's really hard to come back to Vegas when I have a fun weekend in Utah. Here are a few pictures from that weekend...

My crazy neices and nephews!

The result of our family FHE

I spent Monday in Park City with two of my favorite people, my roommates from Ricks, Sara and Marisa

Rooting for the Cougars! It was a good game!

This past Halloween weekend Sarah came and visited from California. She'd never been to Vegas before so we spent Halloween night walking The Strip (that was an interesting experience!), and on Saturday we went to Hoover Dam, Mama Mia and the Shark Reef Aquarium. It's been a fun and full past few weeks!

Ridiculous!

Does anyone else find the new Pantene Volumizing commercial ridiculous? I love that she says "This look is actually pretty easy". Since when did blow drying your hair in sections, spraying on root lift, "popping" it up in some curlers, messing it up, and hair spraying it become "easy"? Pleeeeeeease! If you haven't seen it, check it out...

Sean's blog

I created a blog for my brother Sean. He's on his mission in Mexico and I figured this would be a good way for everyone to stay updated with him. If you know Sean then check it out, or if you don't that's ok too :). The address is http://seanwoodmexico.blogspot.com/.
